Palomar Health becomes first certified health district
By Association of California Healthcare districts

In an impressive demonstration of commitment to ethical and sound business practices, Palomar Health became the first healthcare district in California to be designated as a Certified Healthcare District by the Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD). To be designated as a Certified Healthcare District, districts must demonstrate Best Practices in Governance that have been set forth by the ACHD Governance Committee. This ensures that public healthcare districts conduct business in a manner that is open and transparent for the benefit of the communities they serve. MORE.

BRighton supports women's center in power of pink campaign

Each year, an estimated 250,000 women and men in the U.S. are diagnosed with breast cancer. This October, Brighton Collectibles is once again leading the Power of Pink campaign in support of raising breast health awareness and fighting breast cancer.

The Brighton store at the Westfield North County Shopping Mall has once again selected the Jean McLaughlin Women's Center for Health and Healing as its charity of choice. For each $60 Power of Pink bracelet sold, Brighton and the store's owner will donate $10 to the Palomar Health Foundation designated for the Women's Center.

This year's bracelet features the Power of Pink commemorative ribbon crafted of bezel-set Swarovski on a pear-shaped brilliant pink stone. To purchase a bracelet, visit the Brighton store at the North County mall through the month of October.

grant spotlight: san marcos community foundation

Thank you to the San Marcos Community Foundation for its support of Palomar Health Forensic Services. The grant from the San Marcos Community Foundation helps raise awareness for the program's services.

Every day for the past 30 years, the staff of Palomar Health's Child Abuse (CAP) and Sexual Assault Response Team (SART)  have devoted their lives to caring for those most vulnerable in our community: children and victims who have been assaulted and abused.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals, organizations and foundations like the San Marcos Community Foundation, the program will continue to offer these services to victims in a quiet, safe, and comfortable place.
